Island Real Estate Ltd (IRE ), a company incorporated in the Kingdom of Tonga in 2006, is located in Neiafu on the Island of Vava’u where its registered office is situated.

It is the only registered and licensed real estate company in Vava’u and as such it only deals with registered leases or sub-leases and fractional ownership agreements for properties with existing leases.

IRE was established to provide professional realtor services to investors seeking opportunities to develop superbly aspected properties to suit their residential and /or commercial requirements. It is owned and operated by Nesha and Olivia Rosic.

As a company IRE believes wholeheartedly that the secure way for its clients, along with the people and government of Tonga, in any deals regarding land is through the granting of a Crown Lease. Just a few short years ago this would have been considered un-thinkable, IRE was the first company to achieve this for its clients with leases of 50 years and 99 years duration respectively.

As a foreigner, in Tonga as in the most South Pacific, you can not legally buy or rent the land, you can only lease the land through the registered Deed of Lease title to the maximum of 99 years. Deed of Lease title is transferable within duration of the lease.

Tonga and its many Islands are quite unique. Its history and its culture likewise are unique. The people of Tonga, quite rightly, are regarded as one of the most hospitable on earth due in part to their happy demeanour and outlook on life. In a very few years the world will be fully aware of Tonga and what it has to offer. Tourism development is booming even in the face of world wide economic downturn. The reality is that there are few places left on earth like the Kingdom of Tonga.

The government of Tonga is actively encouraging change in its policy regarding overseas investment.
